Moong dal recipe
Moong dal recipe tadka is tastiest and healthiest recipe. This recipe is full of protein, if you are a fitness freak than this is a beat recipe for you. You can serve it with rice or chapattis as well. You can also serve it as your regular meal. The wonderful flavour with full of butter obtained from the technique called tarka, which means spices sizzled in ghee, added to the pot at the end of the cooking process. Whirl the dal in a blender for a velvet-smooth texture. You could serve it as is, with the texture of a thick vegetable purée, or thin it with a little water and serve it as a soup. Other legumes such as red lentils or yellow split peas may be used instead.
Moong dal has a subtle earthy taste to it that it can take on any kind of flavoring added to it, while also have that body of flavors to stand up to strong flavors like that of garlic.
|Moong dal (skinned and split mung beans), washed and drained||200g/7oz|

How to Cook Moong Dal in pot
1.) Soak the moong dal in water for 20 minutes. Drain in a collander.
2.) Transfer the dal to a medium sized pot, and add enough water so that it is one inch above the lentils.
3.) Add kashmiri chilli powder (laal mirch powder), turmeric (haldi) and salt. Boil the lentils until cooked. You may need to add more water if the daal is getting thick, and you want a thinner consistency. Add juice of half a lemon, it takes the flavor of daal to a whole other level of deliciousness!
4.) Once the lentils are cooked through, you can either garnish with lots of chopped coriander OR make a tadka and make this daal into dal tadka.
How to Cook Moong Dal Tadka (for pressure cooker)
-Soak moong dal for 20 minutes. Drain in a collander.
-Transfer to a pressure cooker, add Kashmiri red chilli powder, haldi (turmeric powder), and salt.
– Add water and pressure cook for about 5-6 minutes, until the moong dal is cooked through. Add more water if desired and juice of half a lemon.
– Put one large dal scoop on stove on law flame put some regular kitchen oil in it. Cut 4,5 garlic into pieces and fry it in scoop till its colour become red brown and then mixed it in dal properly your dal taste will be amazing after adding this tadka in it.
